Ian Nichol is a qualified Further Education Lecturer and he spent over 25 years in the sector undertaking management posts in Human Resources, Business Development, Curriculum Planning and Staff Development.
Ian is currently Head of Logistics at Career Ready, a UK-wide charity that has been helping to transform young people’s life chances for over 16 years by matching them with volunteers from the world of business. He leads Career Ready’s Think Logistics project.
Think Logistics began in 2013 and was set up by Steve Granite, CEO Abbey Logistics, in Knowsley. Its aim is to raise young people’s awareness of the logistics industry and to promote the great career pathways on offer to them.
Ian and Steve began to work together and Think Logistics was blended with the Career Ready programme and developed a national profile which resulted in the project winning the Motor Transport Partnership award and the SHD Logistics Future Skills award in 2016.
