Tom Whitaker


An engineer by trade, Tom has a natural passion for problem solving which he approaches with all the confidence and optimism you’d expect from a lad born and bred in Yorkshire.

Throughout Tom’s career he has maintained a direct focus on delivering the industry’s finest customer experience. For the past five years Tom has been responsible for JCB’s global customer service and technical support to almost 800 dealers on over 300 machine models. Recognizing the escalating significance of the digital product experience, Tom has been instrumental in integrating a customer-centric approach within JCB’s LiveLink Fleet Management System. LiveLink reports critical machine insight to operators, fleet managers, machine owners, and service agents; providing all the tools they need to increase uptime, reduce admin, and help them make better decisions in their businesses. Tom’s strategic vision aligns seamlessly with JCB’s commitment to sustainability, as evidenced by his active involvement in supporting the JCB Road to Zero initiative.

When not renovating his house, Tom is steering JCB’s business strategy towards delivering solutions, not just products. His mission is to redefine the industry standard by delivering the industry’s finest connected experience. In doing so, he envisions a future where JCB not only meets but exceeds customer expectations, solidifying its position as a leader in providing cutting-edge solutions that propel businesses’ growth up and carbon footprints down. Tom’s leadership is marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and a forward-thinking approach to technology and connectivity.
