Electric/hydrogen truck pioneers Tevva are the first new British truck OEM in a generation.
Formed in 2013 by Asher and Moria Bennett and taking its name from the Hebrew for ‘nature’, Tevva is a mission-based manufacturer underpinned by an unshakeable purpose – moving the freight industry towards more sustainable solutions.
And, as the industry shifts its focus to net zero targets, Tevva is targeting greenhouse gas emissions by using electricity and hydrogen to power trucks that will inevitably replace their diesel counterparts.
With trucks already in service throughout the UK for a global logistics brand, Tevva trucks have covered more than 350,000km both in use and testing.
The company’s 7.5t Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) was met with worldwide fanfare upon its launch in 2021. Dubbed the “Terminator Truck” in press coverage, it is the company’s third generation, 100% electric vehicle and the culmination of seven years’ testing and development.
The BEV will shortly go into series production at Tevva’s UK manufacturing base in Tilbury, with the first finished trucks rolling off the production line, ready for customers, this year.
The truck meets range anxiety head on as it can cover 250km on a full charge, or around twice that distance with a hydrogen range extender.
With a payload of about two tonnes and comprehensive telematics, to help fleet operators manage their resources efficiently, Tevva has your net zero targets front and centre. Furthermore, Tevva’s first 7.5t Battery Electric Vehicle (REX) vehicles (complete with hydrogen fuel cell range extender) are set to be shipped to customers in early 2025, closely followed by 12t and 19t variants.
Details of Tevva’s UK-wide service coverage will be unveiled soon, along with a range of services you would expect from an established OEM.
We do technology because it matters and makes a difference to humanity.
